For 2014, Melyssa changed it up a bit and on the first week of each month, we focus on monthly goals, making it easier to drill down to weekly goals. It's a smart strategy really.
Starting 2014 strong, here's goes for January goals.
+Eat breakfast every day. This is sort of a life adjustment, a habit change. But, if I focus on it every month, that might help me really accomplish it. So far, I'm 7 for 7 this year.
+Develop plans for our chicken coop and make progress on the greenhouse and garden plans. It's definitely still winter in Montana, but spring comes fast and last year we didn't get plants in the ground until July. It was a test year for us, but I am hell bent on drastic improvement this year.
+ Get the ball rolling on Montana Bloggers. There's a bunch of great bloggers in Montana and I'm excited to develop a forum to bring them all together.
+Organize the kickoff events for the rejuvenated Montana chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. I've been involved with SPJ for about a decade now and sometimes it infuriates me, but the excitement and satisfaction of doing anything to better my profession never gets old.
+Make as much progress as possible on renovations. We have so much work to do. The house is in pieces and so many decisions need to be made and parts to be acquired. But, one step at a time. M has to do a lot of his stuff first, like electrical and plumbing since I can't help much with that, but I can narrow down options of what I want the rooms to look like in the end which helps us move forward.
+Closet purge. I'm weeding out my wardrobe to only keep the pieces that fit and that I love. It's taking time because I suffer from "I might need this, or I might wear this" syndrome. Plus, I want to replace items with quality, versatile staple items. For instance, replacing three or four pairs of khakis with one. A bajillion pairs of pants I never wear with just a few that really make me feel good while wearing them.
