One of my go-to gals to learn about chickens and how to raise them, plus lots of other things, is Kate at Farmhouse38. She built this gorgeous coop and I love it. I've been telling M about it for months and hope to incorporate some of her lessons learned into our coop.
We know where we're getting our baby Buckeye chickens, sometime in February most likely. They'll have to be indoors in a brooder for about eight weeks it seems like, so we have a little time to get all this sorted out, but we're about to enter a mad dash to prepare for these adorable fuzzy balls of cute.
I've got more research and planning to do, but while M thinks about the structure plans and engineering and construction details, I poke around Pinterest for fun design ideas, tips and just really adorable coops. Who knew chickens could be so fun! I've posted a few of my favorites so far, as well as a few greenhouses I love that I hope to incorporate some of their design elements into our project.
