We got all ready to start on the mudroom redo, but turns out, we needed to redo the electrical first. By we, I mean M. He's been putting in new outlets and figuring out all those issues that I can't say I really understand.
Then it got South Pole style cold and M was trying to close the downstairs bathroom window that never did shut quite right when it broke. We're talking cracked, smashed and not even close to closing. With -30 temps headed our way, that wasn't going to work out. So this happened.
While I'm at it, here's a look at some of the other home owner adventures that you just have to laugh at, to keep from losing your mind. You might also remember time I posted about the near disaster with the septic tank and when my car got totaled by hail and the other car was almost totaled over the summer.
And then there was the whopper of them all so far. Okay, it might not be the worst yet, but I was thoroughly flustered about it and jumpy for a few weeks.
We'd been talking about getting a barn cat to keep the mouse population down, but we weren't ready yet and I'm really not a cat person, but in all honestly, I'll take a cat over mice any day.
Really, owning our home and the renovation process is fun and challenging. There are days when these kinds of things make me want to scream, but eventually, they all become really funny stories.
What kind of around the house mishaps have you had? How do you handle it?
