I think it's true.
August has flown by. So has this year so far, and really, so have 30 years.
But it's all been so fun. Most days anyway.
Last week, I turned 30. It was a blast. Of course I woke up to boyfriend saying, "Hey old lady."
But really, as I've aged, I've realized more and more each year that a birthday is a day to see how much love is around you. It's there everyday, but on your birthday, you see people go out of there way for you and it's really quite touching. I've only been in Montana since January, but my 30th was a fantastic birthday. I'd like to think that with this many wonderful people around me, somewhere along the way, somehow, I got something right.
In honor of the new homestead/minifarm, my co-workers threw me a farm themed birthday at work, complete with John Deere cups and napkins. Such a good bunch.
Some craziness was going on with work that had me flustered all weekend, but the views from a short hike to Hidden Lake overlook, a run in with a mountain goat and the breathtaking drive across Going to the Sun Road helped me put those out of my mind for awhile.
The poor boys had to set up the tents in pouring rain, but the skies cleared for dinner by campfire, smores and wine.
